Oral health and Overall health

"Every tooth in a man's head is more valuable than a diamond."  -Miguel De Cervantes,  Don Quixote 1605

Amazing, don't you think, that even back in the 1600's, people were writing about the importance of oral health!

It is astonishing to learn just how many aspects of our overall health are directly linked to our oral health.  It seems that nearly everyday more and more articles are published discussing just how important it is to take care of our mouths.  Oral health has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, pre-term labor and the list goes on and on.  Researchers from all major medical institutions are just scratching the surface on the links and the cause-effect relationships that exist between oral health and overall health.  So, not only could going to the dentist regularly help you to keep those valuable teeth, it may also save your life!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Always remember:  Keep your teeth healthy and don't let them take a bite out of your life! ;)
